Instead, each page features one specific item, a photo, and a hyperbolically romanticized celebration of why it's so dang awesome. No, I did not eat everywhere. No, this is not objective. I’m just a guy obsessed with uncovering each and every delicious opportunity that an area has to offer, and figured it would be fun to document my favorite discoveries for other food lovers.

I wish every town I traveled to had a Foodist Bucket List in my hotel room upon arrival. For those who want an adventure finding an out of they way experience, for those who love delicious and adventurous eating, for those who are tired of room service, this is your guide. You can use it alone and have entertainment while you eat, or use as a scavenger hunt in search of special culinary treat described in the book. Author is pretty funny, and clearly loves food, and the people who make an effort to make unique options. I don't care about the lack of color pics, I know good food when I read the descriptions. His sense of humor makes it more than a yelp review.Product details

Whether you're a local or a traveler like me I can see both getting a lot of use out of the book. I had planned on passing through and had time to kill so picked up the book to check out some must know food places. I'm partial to the Mac N Cheese pizza, but definitely explore it and check them all out for yourself. Author obviously enjoys his work and it shows in the pages!
Buy this, author knows his stuff.
I use this regularly to try new places or new things at places I've been. I've discovered a plethora of new eating places in Fort Collins.
This book is great. Fun quick guide which made our trip to Fort Collins way more delicious. Feels like a friend is telling you about the good places in their town.
I love how easy to read the book is. You wont get bored by boring facts and stats. Iver did an awesome job collecting his food experiences in Fort Collins. The quirkiness of the book makes this book fun yet very informative. When I make it down to Fort Collins I will for sure have this book along for the ride! A must read for any food lover, college student, traveler or the adventurer alike! Overall GREAT Book!! Oh and one more thing that stood out for me was the soft and pleasant to the touch cover.
Been visiting Fort Collins for years and can't believe how many amazing food and drink options this book lists that I had never heard of! The layout of the book makes it easy to reference, and I love the "check" boxes on each page... Only complaint is that the book isn't in color, but I guess it would have cost a lot more.

If you live in or near Fort Collins and love food, this book is for you! I am always trying to Google the best places to eat, but I'm continuously disappointed. A lot of time it seems places that have great reviews have them because they incentivize their customers to write them (which I fully understand), but this creates a biased review. With The Foodist, you are getting the truth from food expert, Iver Marjerison. He has personally visited each spot he recommends, which makes this book so special. Another reason this book is a gem is because Iver gives you a lot of restaurants you won't find on Yelp or even on the internet! Many of the places he's listed could only be recommended by someone who truly knows the area, a local. Luckily for us, Iver is that local.
When a few friends and I were planning a road trip around Colorado, another friend recommended we stay in Fort Collins a few days. I picked up this book before we left and had few expectations for it given it was cheap and it was the only food guide I could for FC -- which is a shame because the density of food adventures to population size in FC is sort of unreal. When I finally opened the book a day or two out of FC, I was really surprised. I've never seen a guidebook like this and I thought it warranted a review. The layout is simple "eats, drinks, desserts, and hands-on adventures" (see cover logo thing), as every guidebook should be, but the writing is where its distinguished. The author is really engaging and informative, and it's clear he (?) isn't taking himself too seriously. Everything from white truffle olive oil and micro-distilled whiskies to (superb) fried rice were described in a way that will make you excited to try it, even if you're a vegan who hates truffles and whiskey. Third, I'm admittedly a recovering Yelp-maniac, and this guide reaffirmed my feelings about the drawbacks to that app (beyond being that annoying tourist who is paralyzed by choice and phone-locked while almost being hit by a car). In the guide there was a refreshing perspective on a lot of restaurants that had very mediocre yelp reviews -- usually for bad service or something un-food related -- but were 10/10 worth going to if you get really excited about food. Anyway, cool book, it's awesome that it's a bucket list (considering moving to FC just to finish). I don't know if these exist for other cities, but there should be one for where I live in Madison.
