Serena Longer, First Councilwoman of the North American Region, is facing the toughest challenge of her lengthy vampire life. A war more brutal than The Time of Hunting is brewing. She must stop certain segments of vampire society that want an unrestricted license to hunt humans, and they’re willing to destroy anyone in their way. If the war erupts, there will be more than just vampire casualties. Already half-breed children--Vampire mother and human father--are being kidnapped and murdered.
The war isn’t the only thing heating up. Sexy Alexis Night Runner wants to be more than just a blood meal to Serena. Even if Serena believed in the vampire legend of True Love, there isn’t time for romance in her life. Serena is forced to do the unthinkable because the woman won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.
Beset on all sides, Serena must find a way to keep her People, and her heart, safe.

It grabbed my attention right away. I really enjoyed this book. I have read books with a vampire theme but this one is by far superior. It took me two days to read it l, because I did not want to put it down. The characters were three dimensional, relatable, interesting, and have intriguing dialogue with one another. Every scene in the novel moves the story forward and in the beginning your left wondering which direction the book is headed in. The authors expertise is in action scenes I can tell, since there are so many and they're compelling.
There is f/f relationships that are the focal point of the story, one or the reasons I wanted to read it. The loves scenes are well written and the relationships are thought out.
There's also F/M sexuality in the novel, but it's it doesn't take away from the main character, because a bisexual vampire makes sense.
Warning/Spoiler: There is a possible trigger in the novel with the one instance of rape, that is NOT detailed or gruesome but it is there.
The main reason I did not give it five stars was because towards the end it became a little lax and drawn out. Otherwise, still an amazing book.

Artemis' Warriors The Vampire War Trilogy Book 1 edition by Aya Walksfar Romance eBooks Reviews
Absolutely loved this book. So many diverse characters. Looking forward to the next chapter in the story.
Wonderful characters and a new spin on vampires. Highly recommended
I found the book to be well written and captivating. The storyline is engaging and I came to care about the characters.
“I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review”.
Aya is a superb writer! I was drawn in from the start and could not put the book down. Her take on Vampires and the link to a Goddess is awesome! I look forward to reading the next book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the author has created a new and fascinating world of characters that draw you in and keeps the mind wrapped around their world. I enjoyed getting to know them and am ready for the next installment. Serena is a good leader and I'm sure she'll get better. Alexis is coming into her own powers and together they're sure to be a great team. Me like
This is a very different take on vampires and I am looking forward to the sequel since their are a lot of questions to still answer. First it is about two people who love each other and spend the story helping make a difference in their world eventually reuniting.
It shows people who are human and make mistakes and try their best to help others. It deals with a vampire civil war and while I would've liked a little more interaction between the two leads and maybe the side characters to have a couple more pages to flesh out their characters.
I still could tell the leads they loved each other very much and did enjoy reading the novel.
What an empowering book! This genre is not my typical selection but I felt my own warrior spirit deeply resonating and taking flight! Aya Walksfar has written a well-paced novel with high-action adventure laced with strong friendships and romantic interludes. The story takes place in current times so there was much for me to relate to as well as personally stretching my preexisting boundaries. Aya's characters are richly developed, displaying much wisdom, supernatural strengths and gifts galore. I guess what I would say about this great novel is that it feels natural and believable and I would highly recommend it to those who appreciate good writing, no matter what the genre.
